You may be a
Defensive investor!

The current investment environment is one of greater dangers as inflation heats up. However, defensive investors should be well-positioned to weather the storm. Pay special attention to the ongoing conflict in Iran and the Middle East.

As a defensive investor, it is important that you include some capital gains assets (i.e. large- and small-cap stocks), in addition to the income-driven investments (U.S. Treasuries and corporate bonds) that you might normally hold or vice-versa. Consider further diversifying, especially if a single type of investment consists of more than half of your portfolio.

Due to greater inflationary dangers, it is also important to keep up with current events and hold assets, such as short-term U.S. Treasury Bills and inflation-protected bonds, that retain value in high-inflation environments. Cash is especially vulnerable if it is not invested or interest-bearing.
