The current investment environment is one of greater dangers as inflation heats up. However, enterprising investors should be well-positioned to weather the storm. Pay special attention to the ongoing conflict in Iran and the Middle East.
As an enterprising investor, it is important that you include some income-driven investments (i.e. U.S. Treasuries and corporate bonds) in addition to the capital gains assets (large- and small-cap stocks) that you might normally hold or vice-versa. Consider further diversifying, especially if a single type of investment consists of more than half of your portfolio.
Due to greater inflationary dangers, it is also important to keep up with current events and hold assets, such as precious metals and real assets, that retain value in high-inflation environments. Cash is especially affected if it is not invested or interest-bearing.
